Many Security Threats Can Be Avoided With The Following Suggestions!
  • Make sure the bank always has your current contact information, including your cell phone number.
  • Monitor your transactions for any suspicious activity. If you see transactions or accounts that you are not familiar with, contact the Bank immediately!
  • Review your credit report annually. To get a free copy of your credit report, visit www.annualcreditreport.com. If you see any suspicious activity or sources of credit that you have not generated, contact the creditor immediately.
  • Reduce paper transactions by making electronic payments and using our eStatements. This will eliminate confidential information from your mailbox and improve payment efficiency. If this is not an option, shred statements when they are no longer needed.
  • Avoid answering calls from unfamiliar numbers. Even if they sound convincing, never agree to wire money, deposit a check, purchase gift cards, or pay fees for a supposed “prize you won.” If the caller threatens legal action, hang up immediately, and always remember to never disclose personal information over the phone.
  • Never give your social security, account, or credit/debit card numbers to any unknown caller. Legitimate businesses will never call you and request this information.
  • Never divulge your PIN or passwords in response to a call, email, or text. The bank will never ask for this information.
  • Only let trusted companies/individuals have access, remote or otherwise, to your personal computers or mobile devices.
  • Do not use the same password for multiple systems.
  • Change all your passwords frequently, including the following:
    • Your Bank of Dickson eBanking password.
    • The pass code to all your mobile devices.
    • any social media or email accounts you may access.
  • When choosing a new password, make sure to use a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters. Never write your passwords down where they can be easily found. Avoid using birth dates, pet names, address, phone numbers, social security numbers, family names, the numbers 0000 or 1234, and other words which can be guessed easily. Never give your password to anyone!
